A big well done to all of those children who have had 100% attendance so far this academic year!

Animal Welfare Abu Dhabi - Cat Feeding Station

Al Rabeeh School have formed a really effective community link with 'Animal Welfare Abu Dhabi' this week and we believe our students (and stray cats in the local community) will benefit from this greatly.

Dr Susan Aylott from 'Animal Welfare Abu Dhabi' met with our staff members to discuss possible ways that our school could help the welfare group in anyway.

As we have a large number of stray cats in our local area we decided to set up a cat feeding station where stray cats can come and access clean water and food. Our House Captains, Student Council Members and a range of staff members from; teachers, admin, security and even one of our bus drivers will be responsible for maintaining this feeding area.

The Imam from the local Mosque is also very happy with the work of our students and is helping to make sure the area is well maintained. Animal Welfare Abu Dhabi will then take some of the cats, provide them with medical attention and try to find them homes.

This community work links nicely to our Core Value 'Care' which we are having a big focus on in school and we look forward to showing care in a range of different ways.

Core Value: 'Care'

Our next 'Core Value' for the next 3 weeks is 'Care'.

At school the children will be focusing on displaying and promoting this value.

We will have a number of competitions including a poster competition to raise the awareness of this value.

We have also developed a link with 'Animal Welfare Abu Dhabi' who are setting up a feeding station for stray cats behind the school. Members of our Student Council and House Captains team will work with members of staff to top up the food and water stations for the cats.

Student Council Representatives October 2015

The start of the new school year marks a number of changes and a number of children who have been selected by their classmates have been given a special opportunity to be a Student Council Representative.
